This was originally posted at another blog of mine that I have deleted. I have combined all my blogs into this one for the sake of simplicity in my already busy life. Jen – 6/13/09.
Like any good Catholic, I try to pray the rosary at least once in a while. I’ve found that at moments when I could, I lack the tools to do it. I don’t have ALL the prayers memorized & I don’t know any of the mysteries. That’s what prompted me to start memorizing it and I’m glad you could join me. Every 5 days, there will be new material to memorize.
The history of the rosary is very obscure; it’s origins unknown. EWTN has an excellent article here.
Today’s material to memorize is the Apostles Creed.
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Ghost:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting. Amen.
On Friday, I will post on how to say the rosary, where to find online rosaries, and the Our Father.
