I decided to move 7 quick takes to my Catholic mommy blog from my natural mothering blog (http://www.MotheringTC.com). I felt that I was getting away from the purpose of that blog and needed to focus. So now it’s here.

But it should be here. I started this blog b/c DH didn’t want to mess around with updating my wordpress and getting a new theme installed. The lovely man spent yesterday moving my site to the new server, upgrading wordpress and installed the new theme I spent 3 hours picking out. Several times I’ve visited the site and the new theme still isn’t there or isn’t in correctly or something because it’s still blue and purple. And not a widget in sight.

My in-laws are up from Florida for the holidays. It was really a blessing to have them here. I was able to get a fair amount of packing done because they were entertaining/keeping tabs on Lil’ Bit. We also got to have dinner out with friends. When we came back my kitchen was sparkling! They even cleaned my gross stove & microwave!!! That’s the best Christmas present they could have given me right now.

…Because I’m starting to stress about moving. I’m nearly packed but it’s all the stuff I can do with Lil’ Bit underfoot (gathering, piling, etc.). I still don’t have my office computer fully backed up on the external hard drive and I was hoping to rip some of our CD’s so that we could take them with us without having to physically take them with us. Anyway, I’ve done ALL the packing by myself. I understand that Bones has to work, but considering we are all sacrificing to open another office in Florida (yes, it will be a sacrifice. We are living in a camper smaller than my walk-in closet. No joke — go to smallandcheap.wordpress.com.) you would think that he would take a day or two off to help. It’s the holidays, for one thing, and the slowest time of year for another. Once we get there, we are both going to be working our tails off, I think. There’s apparently a demand for bookkeepers, too.

I think I’m sounding a little testier than usual. He has a desire to go skiing with the guys tonight. Yeah. At 3 pm until who knows when.

On the upside, we got to go to dinner with Bones’ 2nd set of parents (the parents of the guy who introduced us consider him their youngest son). I’m really glad we got to see them before we leave town. She made us some beautiful beadwork. Ornaments for Bones & Lil’ Bit and 2 BEAUTIFUL necklaces for me. I wasn’t going to bring any jewelry (not that I have much), but now I may have to.

It’s 80 degrees in Marathon today. It’s 20 here, maybe, in a warm spot, out of the wind, next to a house. Only one more week and we’re headed south. Wish us luck–we’ll be on the road this time next week!!!
