I recently finished a book that is MOSTLY not very relevent for my life right now but had a few great tips that I want to share (and remember :D).
The biggest, which isn’t as big a deal now that I’ve simplified quite a bit, is to limit days out of the house. No more than 2 of the 4 weekdays should be committed and no more than 2 of the 3 weekend days should be committed to outside activities to prevent burnout. Has the limit been met for a particular week? Put a checkmark next to that week so you know that you will either have to remove a different obligation or say no.
It’s really worked for me as I realized that while I’m keeping things simple, I’m also UNDER-committing myself and therefore am bored and cranky. So while I could let myself get carried away, this works for me to keep us somewhere between busy and bored.
