Ingredients:
· 1 (9 in.) double pie crust
· 2-1/2 c. rhubarb, finely chopped
· 1-1/4 c. sugar
· 2-1/2 c. strawberries, sliced
· 5T flour
· 2T butter
· ¼ tsp. nutmeg or cardamom, ground
· Vanilla ice cream, optional
Directions:
Place bottom crust in pie pan. Preheat oven to 400F.
Cut rhubarb into pieces and place in large bowl. In a small bowl, combine flour and sugar and add to rhubarb. Wash, hull and slice strawberries. Add to rhubarb.
Spoon fruit into pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg and add pats of butter. Cover with top crust and pinch together. Make 3 cuts in top crust.
Bake for 40-50 minutes until crust is lightly browned and juices are beginning to bubble up.
Cool before eating. Top with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Serves 6-8

My grandmother LOVES it. Sometimes she just makes rhubarb & leaves out the Strawberries!
