I have been on a hunt for good holiday picture books to add to our collection now that my daughter is old enough to sit through longer books. That being said, I am delighted to add Little Star, a new book by Anthony DeStefano to our Christmas book collection. It’s a beautiful story about a little star who is the only star to understand the message that God intended to bring to the world. Eager to do something for the new king, he gives his life for the king by burning himself out and is remembered by all those who place a star at the top of their Christmas tree.
I love this book! It’s well-written and the illustrations are beautiful. If you have ever read any of my children’s book or gift book reviews, you might remember that one of the things I love in a children’s picture book is the feel of the pages. I LOVE papers (planners, notebooks, books) that feel thick and luxurious. The pages in Little Star (a hardcover book) fit that bill and I’m sure this will be a well-loved book for years to come.
If you would like to hear the story before you buy, here is a video of Pat Boone reading it to a group of children:
Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book for review!
