This is a childhood Christmas favorite. My family has traditionally made it in mini cupcake pans but I think mini tart pans would work better (if you already have some, of course).
Ingredients:
- 1/4 lb butter (1 stick)
- 1 c. flour
- 3 oz. cream cheese
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 2T butter, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions:
Combine 1/4 stick butter, flour and cream cheese and mix well. Make into shells for tarts. Use muffin pan.
Combine nuts, 2T butter, egg, brown sugar and vanilla and mix well. With spoon fill shells about 3/4 full. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350F. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
