My youngest daughter is about 22 months old and she is FASCINATED with pop-up books so when My Pop-Up Bible Stories came in, I knew it would be a hit. We have lots of books of children’s bible stories, but this is the first pop-up book.
My Pop-Up Bible Stories is a hardcover book about 10 inches square, so it’s not too big to be on the lap of even a small child. It has five 2-page pop-up spreads and the illustrations are lovely. It’s a very simple pop-up book in that the pictures pop-up when you open the page to read but there are no tabs to pull or anything like that. The stories are a little long for my not-quite-2-year-old at about 45 words per page, but I think it would be fabulous for age 3 and up.
I like the simple wording and concise story to go with the pictures and I also like that they tell you where the whole story is the in bible. The selection of stories is great and I love the illustrations. Each spread is really colorful and different than the previous one. That makes it really interesting for my daughter and there are animals in almost all the pictures, which is a bonus for a 2 year old :).
If you are looking for an interesting book of children’s bible stories, especially a short one, My Pop-Up Bible Stories is a great choice. The pictures have a lot to point out to smaller children and if you are reading with an older child, they will enjoy the ability to look at the pop-up unsupervised.
