I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned it before, but every month, I plan a family day. I’m not real good at the everyday fun, so at least once a month, I try to plan something fun. When Revell offered to send me a copy of Everyday Confetti, I had to take it. I still had a few empty months in my 2014 plan–LOL!

Everyday Confetti is a book full of creative ideas for having fun in your busy life. Karen Ehman & Glynnis Whitwer make special days fun and ordinary days special. And there’s not a photo in it! No Pinterest envy, simply creative prompts. Covering birthday traditions for all ages, spiritual milestones and everyday family traditions as well as major and minor seasonal holidays this book has ideas galore!

Broken out by month/season, this book is light on Christmas which is nice because Christmas is too high stress already. All the high points are hit — Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, Labor Day, etc — with creative new ways to make them your own and reach out to others in the process. Everyday Confetti includes ideas for things like Book Lovers Day (Aug. 9–the day after my birthday!), a country fair party (yes to deep fried candy!), backwards day and more.

I honestly was bummed that there were more great ideas than I could fit in this year. I will be using it for years to come. Did I mention that there is no Pinterest perfection to fight? The triggers are there and you can go hog wild or go simple and there is no pressure! There ARE recipes. Lots of them. I love tried and true family favorites and there are several I want to try.

So. If you want ideas for low key, low prep but memorable fun, you have to read Everyday Confetti. Not only does it have fun ideas & recipes, but its inspiring to read about their family traditions. It’s like catching a glimpse down the tunnel since my oldest is only 6. I really recommend this to every family, but especially those who have serious moms (like me…I’m not a lot of fun, honestly). Really, really fun.

Do you try to plan some fun to break up the monotony of every day?
